With that said, we would like to express our gratitude to all of our customers for their support in our first year of business. Our season was cut short with Hurricane Irene and then Tropical Storm Lee. While we suffered minimal damage, our town and surrounding areas weren't so lucky. The hamlet of Phoenicia has already bounced back, picked up the pieces and put them back where they belong. Phoenicia is open for business and welcoming your support! Even though it is a little chilly for tubing, please come visit our town and show them your support. We look forward to spring and greeting our customers and new friends for our 2012 tubing season.

Tubing has been a big summer sport for more than 35 years in the quaint little hamlet of Phoenicia, in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. For years, the local kids in Phoenicia take to the river with their own inner tubes and rafts. Some of the tubes were painted with flowers and crazy designs, adding to the entertaining sport.

The "Tube King"

In 1975, Richie Bedner, a.k.a. “Tube King”, started the FS Tube Rental Company with 15 tubes. Forty three tubes were rented that first summer and history was made with the first tube rental company in Phoenicia. Many changes have occurred throughout the years, adding a tube taxi, seats for comfort, handles for better control and safety. Life jackets and paddles were added for more safety and control. After 35 years and much fun, the “Tube King” decided to retire and thus, enter ... F & S Adventures! We are some of those local kids that Richie talked about, heading down to the river with the painted up tubes. We changed the name slightly, moved the location just a bit, and are ready to make your tubing dreams come true! We want you to enjoy the Catskills, reduce your stress, and tube the Esopus with F & S Adventures.
